Bupo Agropecuaria is a family-owned, vertically integrated forestry company. We manage our own plantations and operate our own sawmill, giving us complete control from forest to finished timber. Guided by a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and scientific excellence, we combine responsible forest management with modern wood technology to produce high-quality timber products
Our expertise in forestry, wood performance, and timber processing enables us to supply customers throughout Uruguay and export to markets around the world. As part of the Bupo Group, we work closely with our South African partner, Bedson Timbers, strengthening our international reach and market expertise while maintaining the values of a family-owned business.
Bedson Timbers in South Africa expanded its operations by acquiring 2,000 hectares of land in Uruguay for eucalyptus cultivation, as part of a long-term strategy to secure future supply for South African and international markets.
This investment forms part of a 300-year sustainable forestry project.
Forestry is an investment towards our future. With 20–25‑year harvesting rotations, our plantations supply premium raw material to industries that demand excellence, including:
Our purpose goes beyond production. We believe the true value of forests lies in their ability to restore ecosystems, capture carbon, protect biodiversity, and strengthen climate resilience. This philosophy guides every decision we make.
We continue to invest confidently in Uruguay, a country recognized for its legal stability, economic reliability, and strong institutional framework. These foundations allow us to grow responsibly and sustainably, creating value for our partners, our communities, and the environment.
“Uruguay and Argentina, where part of our investments are located, offer fertile soils for forestry, adequate rainfall, exceptional growth rates, and sustained economic stability.”
